Boston Fusion Exchange: January 7-9, 2011!

Come out to Boston this Winter for the fourth annual Fusion Exchange! This is the only nationwide Fusion event, and gets bigger and better every year.

WHY FUSION?
Because Fusion tells us it’s okay to break out of that box we’ve been dancing in. Be free to follow your heart, your emotions, and your feet in social partner dancing. The Fusion Exchange challenges dancers to broaden their love of dance to incorporate many different dance styles in order to embody all the sounds and rhythms the music has to offer. Whether blues, tango, swing, west coast swing, salsa, pop, hip-hop, trip-hop, or music that incorporates sounds from all these genres and more, every dancer is challenged to “dance outside the box” and use their dance backgrounds and lessons learned in classes to break down barriers and understand that you can dance to practically anything. It is a celebration of individual expression, and sharing that experience with others through social dance.

BOSTON FUSION EXCHANGE 2011 IS HERE!
This year’s event will be held in Boston, MA, at the absolutely beautiful Springstep center. This dedicated dance and movement facility has fully sprung floors and premium sound systems in all of its ballrooms and event rooms, and eye-catching, award-winning design.

REGISTRATION OPENS JUNE 15th at...WAIT FOR IT.....$95!
That’s right, this 3-day, 3+ night event costs under $100! Even better, we provide FREE breakfast and lunch for attendees, and special hotel deals, volunteer opportunities, and homestays to make the event as accessible as possible. If you can’t afford the full price at one time, we even have an installment plan to make the cost more managable*. The $95 tickets won’t last long, though; we do pricing tiers by quantity, so once a certain number have been sold, it will start going up.

*If you’re interested in the installment plan, email registration@bostonfusionexchange ASAP. Spaces in this program are limited, and the earlier you sign up, the better price you can get.

HOUSING
We’ve negotiated a special deal with the Boston Medford Hyatt, a full-service hotel available at the low, low rate of $119/nt for a double queen or single king room. This price expires Dec 23, 2010 and includes:
Complimentary Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel, continental breakfast daily from 7-10am and 24hr coffee/drink service in the lobby, and a swimming pool, on-site parking, and shuttle service to wellington station. Live like a king for $30/night (quad occupancy)!

We’ve also partnered with Space Share this year to make finding housing and travel companions a breeze. Space Share is an online networking system that allows BFX participants to find other dancers with whom to share hotel rooms, taxi’s/carpools and even airline flights!! This new service will replace traditional rooming assignments used in the past. So instead of us doling out your room assignments, Space Share will allow you to easily find and choose who you room/travel with!

Dance Classes – Why Is It Necessary?

Many of us know a few moves and we think we know it all or can learn it just by watching movies. The truth is that we can learn few moves but cannot master it on our own especially if we are beginners. The best we can do is to join a good dancing school or academy. There are plenty of Dancing Classes in NYC where learners can grow personally and professionally as a dance performer. New York City saw a remarkable change in the dance circuit with the introduction of many dance forms and dance institutes. These institutes offer many dancers a chance to showcase their talent. Many dance shows and talent hunts were started in order to give performers an option to become choreographers and dancing stars of the future.

Online lessons have been a boon to many dance aspirants who cannot attend classes regularly due to some reason or the other. Many classes provide such classes at an affordable price. Students are provided with DVDs and internet videos with the step by step lessons. These lessons are alike to the regular classes; however, the biggest difference is that you have here you have a virtual instructor’s guidance. Guidance is extremely important at the initial stage of learning i.e. the beginner level.

Regular classes are also preferred by the newcomers. With the proper assistance of dance teachers, learning can become really fun and enjoyable. Flexible timings and fees arrangement make these classes a great source of inspiration for many learners.
