Beginner Lessons

A good opportunity to learn the basics of swing dance is to participate in our beginner lessons, held from 7:30–8:30 on Tuesdays and Saturdays at The Green Door prior to our dance events. Each lesson will cover the basic footwork and patterns, as well as several beginner to intermediate moves. Instructors rotate each week and the content of the lessons vary so that you are sure to learn something new each time.

Admission is $5 ($3 with student ID) and includes admission to the dance immediately following the lesson. No partner is needed.

Thursday Night Practice Sessions

If you're looking for an opportunity to practice in a non-threatening environment, then Practice, Practice is for you. Facilitated by our own Wendy Hansen, these sessions are held each Thursday night from 7:30–8:30. Immediately following is Beginner Lindy Hop from 8:30–9:30, where students are able to learn the basics of the very fun 8-count Lindy Hop.

Admission for the evening is $5. No partner is needed.

Special Workshops

Each month our club hosts special workshops, generally geared toward intermediate to advanced dancers. The quality of instruction is as good as you will find anywhere, as we often invite world-class dancers to teach us their dance of expertise. Past workshops have included instruction in East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Balboa, Charleston, and Blues. Keep an eye on our events calendar for upcoming workshop details.
