Luke Bent
Vice President, Instruction, Music
Luke never would have guessed that he'd be a dancer, but back in 2013, he got hooked on Lindy Hop and it's been all downhill from there!
Luke came to the Green Door in 2018 and got involved as a dancer, then an instructor, then a board member. Nowadays, he can be found teaching the Green Door's series classes, teaching some Saturdays, and dancing all over locally. Luke primarily dances Lindy Hop but also enjoys Balboa and more recently fell in love with Collegiate Shag.

As a dancer, Luke values comfort, musical play, and fun! As an instructor, he aims to share that fun with his classes - he's a big believer in focusing on fundamentals and trying to build up a solid set of basics that people can feel good doing both in class and later on the social dance floor. Some of Luke's current scene-related goals are to keep building up our dance community, to continue and grow our series classes, and to develop a local shag scene.

Outside of his dance addiction, Luke is a musician and plays in a local community orchestra. He also likes hanging out with his cat.
